Community Involvement
Students are more likely to succeed when their family and community are invested in their personal and academic lives. To help facilitate that, the AANAPISI Student Ambassadors and the dedicated AANAPISI staff will:
- Identify cultural and linguistic liaisons that parents and peers can relate to
- Connect Highline and AAPI programs to broader community groups and institutions
- Expose AAPI families to Highline and allow them to talk to other students to learn about academics and student life
- Provide technical support and opportunities for students to find their own solutions to common issues in their respective communities
- For reports and articles on issues important to the AAPI community, visit the WA State Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs (CAPAA).
- For resources and support for the Southeast Asian community, visit Southeast Asia Resource Action Center (SEARAC).
